From Singularity to Complexity
EVERYTHING
— and beyond every & thing —
is inspiration for this series
It is a fundamental exploration of matter1, forms and their meaning.
It is the artistic reflection of creation and unfolding.
It does not matter1 which origin myth you follow
— in the beginning, out of nothing, emerged something and turned into EVERYTHING.
Let me derive the fundamental formicles and their relationships:
First there was energy and soon after — light.
And its opposite — darkness.
This duality forms an archetype of itself — and a continuous drama. It's up to the observer to decide its meaning: of harmony (yin/yang) or struggle between good and evil — dominance and submission.
As energy became more dense it gathered at a point in space and time.
Points related to each other by their closest distance — a linear line.
So far so innovative — but what happens at the most simple intersection of 3 lines?
A revolutionary concept is birthed: the first FORM, an equilateral TRIANGLE.
One could call it the holy trinity, but as we have not arrived at meaning, we would be ahead of ourselves.
Something peculiar happens when light hits the now form — it functions as a prism.
Suddenly the white light is split into a range of "new" lights, that we identify as the most prime and basic colors:
And then the shift happened to the next form — the SQUARE. Four perfect parts, that can be extended in the form of a grid indefinitely.
Realising this is also possible for the triangle — forming patterns without gaps — extendable indefinitely — and thus filling the whole universe, where the forms continue iterating and expanding.
We observe that happening for the next logical form — the HEXAGON. A cluster of six triangles, but again with unique properties folded in this fashion.
And as the forms expand, so do the colors. The 3 primal colors intersecting create the second generation of colors: green, orange and purple.
6 Colors · 6 Segments · 1 Hexagon
THESE 3 basic forms and 6 colors can already create a myriad of form, color and fractals.
But to be mathematically exact, only the following patterns comprise the 3 FORMS without any gaps : 3 grids and 5 patterns can be FORMED — the regular and semi-regular tessellations.
Let's pause and exlore this small perfect universe of itself, as it is on the verge of further expansion:
